Project Background:

DDJ started implementing another project named Post-Literacy and Continuing Education for Human Development Project (PLCEHDP) in November 2002 with the support of the Directorate of Non-Formal Education (DNFE) in Jhikargacha upazila of Jessore district. The project primarily aimed at human resource development through conduction of continuing education sessions for retention of literacy of the adults, vocational skill development and economic activities for enhancement of the socio-economic development of the rural poor.

Duration: November 2002 to December 2007.

Area Coverage: Jhikargacha upazila of Jessore district.

Project Goal:

To development Human resource through conduction of continuing education sessions for retention of literacy of the adults, vocational skill development and economic activities for enhancement of the socio-economic development of the rural poor.

Objectives of the Project:

1. Provide non formal education to the adults;

2. Improvement of the economical status of the poor.

Project Participants: People of the Total Literacy Movement (TLM), adult people among the rural poor.

Major Interventions:

1. Establish non formal education center;

2. Provide non formal education to the poor;

3. Provide skill development and vocational training to the target people;

4. Help the targeted people in getting credit support;

5. Conduct meeting, workshop etc.
