Program Title: Rehabilitation of Sidr affected Coastal Fishery, Small Business and Livelihood Enterprise (RESCUE)

Program Background:

DDJ started this program with an aim to rehabilitate the cyclone Sidr affected people who were engaged in coastal fishery through providing various livelihoods options.  DDJ staff supported the Sidr affected people to identify their livelihoods options, distribute the materials (e.g. net, poultry, livestock, seeds, etc) & soft-ware (training & follow up) support services to them to manage the livelihoods options in a sustainable manner.

Duration: December 2007 to December 2011.

Area Coverage: Pirojpur, Bagerhat, Jhalokathi, Barisal, Borguna and Gopalgonj.

Program Goal: The goal of this program is to rehabilitate the cyclone Sidr affected marginalized farm owner (Duck, poultry, cow and goat rarer), shrimp farmer, fishermen group and small entrepreneurs etc.

Objective of the Program:

  1. The general objective of this program is to contribute to the restoration/restart of the livelihoods of the targeted group members by providing them flexible credit support.

Program Participants: Marginalized farm owner (Duck, poultry, cow and goat rarer), shrimp farmer, fishermen group, small entrepreneurs etc.

Major Interventions: Provide flexible loan support to the targeted group members.
